My name is Lori Peacock, known as “THE COOK” on the website. My husband Mike designs websites for a living and he made this one for me so that I could take a stab at it. I would say the things I am most passionate about are cooking and crafts. I have been adding recipes a little at a time. I try to add a picture of all of the things that I cook. I think it adds to the recipe if you can see what it is supposed to look like, especially for people that are just starting out learning how to cook.
I enjoy cooking with Mike’s baby girl Jenny, she is a blessing and a huge help in the kitchen. She is a natural in the kitchen. She has been helping me cook for 3 years. However the inspiration for this site is from my granddaughter Shatara. When she was 3 and 4 she would watch the cooking shows and get all excited. She used to smile up at me and say “Nana, one day we are gonna win one of those trophies!” She was so happy. She loved to help in the kitchen. When she was 3 1/2 she helped me make her Mama’s birthday dinner. I forgot what we cooked, but we made brownies and she was so proud of them. She is the real reason I want this site to be kid friendly.
I hope to get enough followers to start having a monthly cooking contest in the near future. Maybe $1 entry fee to win a small trophy with the date and the name of the child on it and a $5 gift card for the parent. You would just have to register on my site, sign up for the monthly contest and enter a recipe and a picture of you and your helper for a chance to win. Let me know what your feedback is on this please. If you would like to add a recipe, please register and we will get you access to add it and feel free to add a picture.
